Decorated Powder Horn (1775) - Lemmy.World

This powder horn was property of John Calfe a Captain in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. Calfe was from New Hampshire but this horn was from his time serving in what today is Vermont. He was stationed at Mt Independence across the lake from Fort Ticonderoga until July of 1777. It reads: “What I Contain Shall Freely Go: To Bring a Haughty Tyrant Low.”
