The 2024 Election in Three Acts

I. The Oligarchs, tech and otherwise (Musk, Zuckerman, Murdoch, Koch brothers, et al) wanted to install a puppet who would a) lower their taxes, b) protect them from regulation by government, and c) otherwise cement their power over their fellow citizens.

II. The problem was, hardly anyone would vote for that. So they stirred up hatred of immigrants, foreigners, aliens, and any other available demons who could be blamed for the various economic woes and perceived injustices that most people experience.

III. The puppet having been installed, some of the Oligarchs can now reveal that they themselves don't mind immigrants and foreigners—because they make money by employing immigrants and foreigners, and incidentally some of them ARE immigrants and foreigners.

This all being true, and undoubtedly a repeat performance of a play we have seen many times before, are we ready to take up the challenge of telling a succinct and accurate story with sufficient frequency and volume that it replaces the dog-whistle, scapegoating story of the oligarchs in the minds of a clear majority of Non-MAGA voters?
