Adrianna TanMost of the time, when people say ‘SF is a failed city’ and refer to homeless people, they’re not critiquing the circumstances (housing, gentrification, cost of living, lack of shelter). They’re saying the state has failed to sufficiently put away poor people, so they don’t have to see them.

scott f@collin @skinnylatte My favorite is people in the Mission, my neighborhood, whining that the city has made us a "containment zone" because we have more visible homelessness than like Noe Valley/Marina. Subtext: make Bayview or Oakland the containment zone.
