The IWW does still exist. In fact, they are the ones who really got the ball rolling in terms of organizing Starbucks back in the 90s.
And the IWW isn't just about workplace rights and wages, like the mainstream unions. Their ultimate goal is to abolish wage slavery entirely, seize the means of production, create a society in which workers have the power.
@MikeDunnAuthor oh, I guess I didn't express clearly, as I am a current Fellow Worker. I was meaning that it already exists and would be an easy bar to clear for people looking to build labor power.
@MikeDunnAuthor and I feel like there's a swell in interest in trade unionism, so the IWW could be a way to further radicalize people away from bureaucratic unions to eliminating wage slavery all together.
