I beta-launched this to some friends then forgot to post about it. Lens is a meta tag checker but it only checks the things I care about and also doesn't try to upsell you some marketing nonsense when you use it

@robb Holy crap Robb! This is amazing...
@robb Very cool, thanks for building and sharing!
@robb Throw some rel=me and h-entry checking in there!
@robb this is super useful, just updated my site with a few extra metadata tags. Thanks!
@robb that’s cool! Still don’t know what I haven’t done for the mastodon author attribute thing though 🤷
@flamed What do you mean, yours works?

@robb Very cool

On this page

I think the Atom link should resolve to:
https://doscienceto.it/blog/atom.xml

but you have it as:

Which one of us is wrong?

Things that I've 3D Printed Using Haskell

In which I design and print a bunch of stuff, using Haskell code

@hungryjoe It pulls the value from the meta tag - so if it redirects later then Lens wouldn’t know that
@robb I don't think it's a redirect issue, so much as how it handles relative paths
@hungryjoe I see what you mean, you’re right, I didn’t consider that - I’ll try and get a fix in.
@robb awwww yiss, that's nifty! ❤️
@robb that's excellent, thanks!

@robb Thankyou for this, I'd misunderstood the verification thing, hadn't completed it. And though my Wordpress site has a description it's not a description.

@Edent Thanks for the retoot, I'd otherwise probably never have seen this.

@robb Well what's even the point if you aren't going to upsell me.

@robb

or maybe these words better describe the situation:

social.lol considers your blog post to be #journalism.

mastodon.social does not consider your blog post to be journalism, so that's why they don't include a "More from" for you.

I think mastodon.social needs to whitelist you as a journalist/blogger for the "More from" to appear correctly, am I right?

@shoppingtonz No, as I said, the whitelist is done on the instance of the user.

This might be a bug on mastodon.social because it runs newer builds not yet publicly released.

@robb this is so cool, Robb. I struggled with the fediverse creator feature working this week, and many others are clearly unsure how to get it working. When I test my site Lens says it is set. I’m curious if Lens would/could/should show this in the preview. I am horrible at documentation and I see you have help text on Lens.
Thank you. Love that you’ve done this.
@robb SO RAD. Thanks for creating this. And @Luke for re-tooting. 😜
