It's a lot of nothingburgers with largely unsubstantiated claims (and Epidemic Sound that was mentioned several times is a legitimate business).

Like all such articles, the main issue is completely ignored. They manged to dedicate one whole paragraph to it even though literally everything in the article can be explained by it (whether true or not).

Disclaimer: I work at Spotify, and can do nothing but roll my eyes at such articles.

As to Gruber's title that he undoubtedly considers to be very clever: a company's bad practices do not excuse other companies' different and unrelated bad practices.
