Meet Mouse. (Name courtesy of rescue org, may or may not stick).

11 months old torbie (tortie/tabby).

She's tiny and as quiet as a mouse, definitely needs a bell!

She's curious and very affectionate for day 0 - there even been a purr. She's not very sure about the noisy cat on the other side of the door though - the feeling is reciprocated by the noisy cat on the other side of the door (Pi).

I suspect she's going to take a while to feel comfortable here. /Joking

There was a *crash-bang* at 4am this morning which resulted in me levitating out of the bed. Pi was in another bedroom but we met in the hallway to investigate.

Mouse's bedroom door was ajar (skill unlocked).

I quickly grabbed Pi and shoved him in the bathroom (checking there wasn't a bleached torbie in there already), closed the door and then went searching.

I found Mouse lazing carelessly on top of the dining table. She was not impressed at being returned to her room - this may or may not have had something to do with her mysteriously wet tail.

Several hours later, once I'd woken up properly, I found an empty shelf in the laundry, and a sink full of random stuff below it. (Mystery solved.)

I spent a few hours in with Mouse this morning and she was happy to sleep on my chest again, purring loudly.

I tried to give her some house time just before (with Pi locked out), but she wasn't interested in leaving the safety of her room.

Pi has decided to get in some chest time instead.

I gave the cats dinner on each side of the door, no problems. I opened the door slightly (and only for a couple of seconds) and they looked at each other then both went straight back to eating.

After dinner I locked Pi out on the deck area and am letting Mouse explore the hallway and lounge (open plan areas of the house). She was very tentative at first, but is keen to keep exploring rather than retreat to her room.

Pi and Mouse have come nose to nose. Pi is far more interested in being allowed back into his 3rd bedroom. Mouse is ever so slightly concerned, but is also very happy to continue exploring the house.

@Andrea Mouse is a very good name, suits her a lot.
@Andrea oh she's gonna be a handful - but she's a tortie, so what can you expect? :) ❤️
@Andrea Naughty tortie also applies to torbies!
