It's that time of the week again: time to feed the spiders. I think the cellar spider (_Pholcus_) in the jar won't need food for a while—I've never seen one so fat! I also managed to get three fruit flies into the orbweaver's (_Larinioides_') web with tweezers.

Also, when I was checking on the cellar spider under the radiator, I saw some large crumbs of food that had rolled away nearby, with smallish black ants industriously breaking them down. I wondered why I hadn't seen ants in the rest of the room—then noticed the cellar spider's web was full of tiny little black bundles wrapped in silk, with more discarded underneath. It has been singlehandedly keeping the ants under control!
