@cstross I think I fell down the stairs just looking at that.
@cstross It's got a double bed but definitely no way to safely get it on
@cstross @weirdestate literally matches the floorplan of a dungeon I saw in a true crime book where a guy cask of amontilladoed his wife.
@cstross It’s an interesting study of how one might fit the living space for a human being in the smallest and least conveniently-shaped space possible. I don’t think unintentional death can be considered suicide. The blame / homicide charges should be shared equally between the person that built that space and the person that chose to reside there.
@cstross something like that might work in zero-g.
@cstross For a while when I was a kid (ages ~11-18), my bedroom at my mum's place was a sleeping loft in the eaves that had room for just a double mattress about a foot of carpet and then an eight-foot drop. If I had rolled off sideways, I would have fallen about 4 ft before the middle of my body was stopped by the counter dividing the kitchen from the living room. Felt absolutely safe, no worries. Only once did I accidentally climb backwards off the edge to be found crouching half-asleep on the kitchen counter having broken the teapot.
