In what authorities say was a possible UnitedHealthcare copy cat, Anderson Express Inc CEO Erik Denslow is in critical condition after being stabbed by a new hire at a mtg.

The assailant Nathan Mahoney was hired to a key position 2 weeks ago and was expected to take over a retiring senior employee's role.

The firm, Andsrson Express Inc, is a tier one supplier into the US and Israeli military industrial complex.

@nullagent Oof. Stabbings don't tend to be especially lethal, I expect the bastard survived?
@TeflonTrout yes I think he's expected to survive, but is in critical condition

@nullagent @TeflonTrout

whether stabbings are lethal often depends on the intent of the attacker, how angry they are and how much prison time they want to risk (here its up to 10 years for causing injury of which 2/3rds are normally served inside, but life sentence with minimum tariff of 13 years + for murder).

I live in Britain where we have strict gun control, and lethal stabbings happen all the time (often for fairly trivial reasons)

@vfrmedia @nullagent I believe it, but if you're intending to kill someone with a knife, you need to know what your doing- Major arteries like the carotid, jugular from the back, femoral or if you have time to angle it the heart from the front are your best bet. Failing, that lungs or kidneys. Most stabbings I've seen reported here in the US are in the gut, and while excruciating, don't tend to be lethal if you get help with the golden hour.

If you intend to kill, a fast debilitating hit followed by an aimed, deliberate killing one is theoretically the way to go.

Thanks to my drill sergeants for this knowledge, Provided during bayonet training. What fun.

@TeflonTrout @nullagent

The British folk who carry knives (even teenagers) often study stuff like this and do exactly what you mentioned, all those military guides from your service are now online and even in 20th century were easy enough to get, sold to young men amongst otherwise innocuous books about things like cars or electronics.

We had the policeman turn up at high school as early as 1986 warning us not to stab one another (as it resulted in a long spell in prison)
