The #Biden admin just canceled federal student loans for 55,000 workers through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

The cancellation targets teachers, nurses, service members, law enforcement and others who have worked 10 years or more in government or nonprofit jobs.

I have purchased all of the appliances (4) I was going to replace in the next year or so, now, in front of supply chain/price increases. I even bought a freezer chest to keep ahead of shortages if they appear. Nothing that is wasteful, just shortened the time line.
That and my shiny new passport. ;)

@GottaLaff My loans were forgiven through pslf in 2022 thanks to biden’s updates to the program. I was unknowningly in the wrong loan type and was dishearted by the years I had spent working towards forgiveness. I would have to start all over again once i consolidated to the correct loan. Thanks to the temporary waiver I was able to have all my years of previous payments counted toward forgiveness. It was a game changer.

@GottaLaff I’m in the non-profit world in a profession where #studentloanforgiveness was promised after 10 years. We still need more licensed professionals to work in fields most find undesirable due to low pay or conditions. I wanted to what I’m doing anyway & the incentives helped me commit to it
I work in a very specific MH/behavioral field where we need more trained professionals.
Anyway, that student loan forgiveness was reneged is a crime. What bullshit to break an agreement like that.
