How you wash your hair in space: demonstrated by astronaut Karen Nyberg on the International Space Station.

@wonderofscience I just don’t get how we haven’t mastered the idea of showers in space. Make water spray out the front, have an air intake at the back that goes to a condenser/dehumidifier…. To dry off… Compressed air, like a human sized Dyson air blade.

I’ve been camping and not showered for a week or two… But I could always just dunk my head in the river, even if it was “brisk”. I can’t imagine not showering for months at a time.

@JustinDerrick @wonderofscience That's basically how the Skylab shower worked. It was reportedly quite effective for cleaning, but keeping the water under control was a pain. Showering took about two and a half hours per person, what with the need to track down every stray drop that escaped from the vacuum/separator system.
