Sigh. I did not break a cheap part. I need to replace "under bracket component" but you can't get that by itself. You have to get "front fork assembly". $385.20.
I emailed these pictures back to the old shop to ask for a sanity check before ordering the parts.

Good news, good news! I did not break the part I thought I broke. My friend over at The Scooter Lounge (Provo, UT) took a look and found that I actually need THIS part. Which happens to cost a lot less and requires a lot less work to replace.

Once, Helena (2014 Genuine Buddy 125) had an aftermarket windshield, I don't remember which brand. But it doesn't matter because they all mount that same way.
The way I despise.
The arms of the windshield mount fasten to brackets that you put in the holes where the rearview mirror stems go. Then the rearview mirror stems go into the brackets instead.

This assembly is wildly unstable.
Any tiny bump to the windshield or either of the mirrors throws ALL the components out of whack.
From irritating to enraging, I finally decided I'd rather have wind.
I do actually want a windshield, but if I can't find a different kind of mount kit, I'll have to create one.
