US Senate just passed NDAA 85-14 to allocate $895B for war.

A reminder:
•End homelessness: $30B
•Insulin for diabetics: $40B
•Universal Pre-K: $60B
•Universal 4-yr-college: $70B
•SNAP for 40M Americans: $80B
•Cancel all medical debt: $140B

And we'd still have $475B left over

Got money for war but can't feed the poor (or literally provide even the most basic support for working class Americans)

The US spends so much on the military you would think the soldiers would be better paid. Instead senior sergeants have second jobs to make ends meet. A Canadian private fresh out of boot camp makes more than a US sergeant with years of experience.
