with the accessibility of facial recognition technology, not to mention other surveillance technologies and methods, masks are crucial to the right to protest peacefully without facing recriminations or harassment.

Good praxis would’ve been universal masking at protests, both to protect the vulnerable and to protect participant identities.
But people just won’t, because the left is as eugenically ableist as the right.
