My quest to refill my HRT prescription just hit another obstacle. I've been to my family doctor twice over the past month to get a refill. I was denied the first time because I didn't have my prescription codes with me, and the second time because the prescription was with my OB-GYN. I've phoned my OB-GYN several times, and finally got a nurse contacting me back to say I had nothing to worry about. My prescription would be refilled and I wouldn't have to suffer from going cold turkey.

Just got another call from the office of my OB-GYN saying that I can't get a refill without first seeing my OB-GYN. So I said, ok. Let's book an appointment.

Not possible without a referral from my family doctor because it's been over two years since I last saw my OB-GYN.

How come I wasn't offered the option of a followup in the past two years?

No idea, said the nurse.

So now I have to go to my family doctor's office, which is always full of sick, unmasked people to ask for a referral to a doctor who might not be able to see me for months.

I'm expected to suffer.

I hate this medical system so much. #HealthcareOrLackThereof #OntarioHealth

I just walked to the doctor's office. Really hoping I can get this sorted out before my prescription runs out. Maybe I can get a referral to a sports doctor while I'm at it because my knees feel like someone's been sticking pins in a poppet for the past couple of months.
And of course someone is coughing and sneezing in here and not wearing a mask. Fuuuuck.
I'm the only one with a mask as usual. I used a nose spray before coming in. I hope it's enough. A friend of mine caught COVID at a work party despite wearing a mask.
@Shanmonster Ugg I'm so sorry. That is not fun.
