Aberdeen needs more community space, not less.

I wrote to the Minister for Public Finance, urging him to call back Aberdeen City Council's approval to destroy St Fittick's Park.

The approval of this development completely ignores SEPA, the people of Torry, & climate campaigners across Scotland.

It even ignores the Scottish Government's own commitment to a just energy transition & wellbeing-focussed economy. (2/5)

Call on Scottish Government to intervene to save St Fittick's Park

Torry has been used as Aberdeen's dumping ground for far too long, from the destruction of Nigg Bay to a waste incinerator built just 300 yards from a school.

St Fittick's Park is also a biodiversity hub for Aberdeen, with rare habitats for hundreds of bird & plant species! (3/5)

We need a transition to cleaner energy which works for the planet, but it also has to work for people.

That should mean communities are listened to, & their spaces are protected.
I urge the Scottish Government to listen to local people & call-in this disastrous decision (4/5)
