@JuxGD The US made a law that required the parent company ByteDance to either sell TikTok or be banned from the US (meaning deleted from App stores and not available in browsers).
One reason they gave for this was data privacy concerns because the CCP could confiscate the data of USian users at any time. TikTok offered to move all that data into the US, congress was not impressed.
