In defense of the manic drummer banging away on a drum in front of a newborn... We don't have to bring the perfect gift to Christ. What we have and who we are may not seem "appropriate" for a myriad of reasons. But Christ doesn't want the perfect. He wants the weird and the broken and the hurt. They're the ones He came here for. So let the kid bang away. Christ will smile at you, too.
