I’m loving my timeline here in the fediverse. I seamlessly follow and engage with people posting via Mastodon, Threads, Bluesky, Pixelfed, Lemmy, Ghost, Wordpress and Flipboard. The social web is here and it’s just awesome.
@mike not Bluesky. That's not using ActivityPub.
@raspbeguy i follow bridged Bluesky users like @jay.bsky.team and @mmasnick.bsky.social and it works great!
@mike @raspbeguy @jay.bsky.team @mmasnick.bsky.social How does this work? Bluesky users have to manually use that bridging web site? Or is that something Mastodon users do to pull in ANY Bluesky account?
@tod @mike @raspbeguy @jay.bsky.team @[email protected] from what I can tell, the bsky account also has to follow the bridge. I have not been able to make it work to pull in accounts where this is not b the case.

@raspbeguy @jay.bsky.team @mmasnick.bsky.social And BTW, I wish more people on Threads turned on federation and more people on Bluesky bridged their account to the fediverse. But some of the coolest people i know have done this so i can follow them from both Mastodon and Flipboard.

Thankfully I think a lot more people will federate and bridge their accounts in the weeks and months ahead. In the not too distant future, we’ll all just be on the same open social network.

@mike @jay.bsky.team @mmasnick.bsky.social They're using a bridge so of course it works, but that's not related to the fediverse then.
@mike @jay.bsky.team @mmasnick.bsky.social You also have bridges from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram... Bridges are not maintained by those networks. On the opposite, Threads users are (kinda) natively availabl eon the fediverse and it is maintained by Threads itself.
@raspbeguy @jay.bsky.team @mmasnick.bsky.social that’s exactly the point of the fediverse. I can see posts from all these people in one timeline regardless of where they’re posting from. The fediverse is all about being able to follow and engage with the people I want from any compatible app I want to use while they can post and engage from any compatible app they want to use. It could still use some improvement to make things more seamless but this is already a huge step forward.
