On stage at #Deploy24, @timlatimer.bsky.social is talking on a live recording of the Odd Lots podcast with Tracy and Joe about the need for continued and enhanced investment in geothermal innovation. Tim says everyone wants energy to be clean, affordable, and reliable. He’s right.
A huge thank you to a visionary leader in the clean energy transition: @jigarshahdc.bsky.social. Jigar’s work and the work of the Loan Program Office team has set up the country and the world to get to a zero emissions, lower cost, & more resilient clean economy faster. Thank you Jigar! #energysky
Finally, Secretary Granholm closes out #Deploy24. The country was lucky to have her leadership at DOE. She has helped make the energy transition inevitable. There’s been nearly a trillion dollars in private sector investment in the clean energy economy announced during this Administration.
Sec. Granholm likes to talk about new clean energy capacity being added in terms of how many Hoover Dams (2 GW) that is. I edited one of her Op-Eds and added this unit of comparison and she and the rest of the Admin now use it as communication tool. Posting to policy pipeline rolls on.
Sec. Granholm outlining all of the climate and clean energy wins of this Admin is really something. Plenty of stuff still to do. Plenty of things to do better. But unambiguously shifted the curve of emissions inevitably toward zero. Thank you, Sec. Granholm.
The thing is, #Deploy24 is my preferred conference. It’s my community. And next year there probably won’t be one. So I’m sad & now back to other conferences. With your “more of a comment than a question”, your “I have 30 slides in 12 point times new roman for this 10 minute talk”, & what have yous.
