But no, I think it would really depend on which version of Mario and Link, and by that I mean what power-ups and tools they have access to.
Metal Mario from 64 is invulnerable to damage, 64 Mario also has an array of punches and kicks he can use.
(Totally forgot Stars also make him invulnerable).
aLttP Link has the flame shield, which can block fireball projectiles. Also, the Cane of Byrna makes him immune to damage.
Though. Hammer Brother Suit Mario's hammers can probably not be blocked by any incarnation of Link's shields.
BotW Link, if he has upgraded stasis, could stun Mario for a short period of time. Can't comment on TotK Link as I haven't played that.
It really depends on rules and limitations. If we were to say anything goes, Link has some many additional tools, and I only just remembered fairies in bottles and Chateau Romani!
I think Link edges this one out.
I forgot to mention Cappy.
Though, since most incarnations of Link wears a head covering of sorts, and if I recall, Cappy only works on non-hatted entities.
As for Yoshi, Link is probably too big for Yoshi to consume. At least within the context of what Yoshi can eat in the non-Smash games.
