@tprophet The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) was signed into law by Ronald Reagan and requires hospitals to provide emergency care to undocumented immigrants, regardless of their immigration status or ability to pay. CMS does not require hospital staff to ask patients directly about their citizenship or immigration status. Kudos to this doctor for reminding people of that. He saved lives.

@DebErupts Parker Adventist Hospital in Colorado just asked my husband if he was born in the US. We were stunned they would ask that. Never asked before. They also had FOX news on in the waiting room. What next? I will not go back. @parkeradventisthospital
