December 1, and the start of #AdventOfSystemSeeing 2024 edition.

Like last year, there will be daily prompts on the AdventOfSystemSeeing hashtag (making it easier to follow or mute).

The idea is to do daily (15-20 minute) exercises in a System Journal (notebook). These could be a “make your own advent(ure)” sort of thing, or you can follow the prompts on the hashtag each day.

Following journal prompts is an exercise in of itself. I fully recognize that there is a leap of trust in carving out 15-20 minutes daily, to “give it go.” It’s a bit over 3 weeks, so that time adds up.

And there will be uncertainties (both in interpreting the prompt, and in what we are able or willing to do with it). The big step each time, will be getting started and seeing where it leads. There’s no “right” and “wrong” — only what we draw into view.

The usual pattern:

Prompt posted by midnight Eastern Time, so folk in Europe get the prompt at the start of the day.

Follow-up quotes and observations are added during the day. These are points for further reflection, and connection (making).

Often (speaking for myself), I think “i get the idea” — without doing the thing. That's something, but the big idea here, is doing the thing. Making it your adventure in investigating systems, and some system or situation of interest to you.

The first several days will be in the general area of “seeing” and “systems” and then we’ll shift to exploring some situation, system, or challenge of interest and relevance to you (that is, to those participating)
