Intel Monday announced CEO Pat Gelsinger has resigned after a difficult three-year stint at the company. The once-dominant chipmaker’s stock cratered as it missed the AI boom and was surpassed by most of its rivals.

@brophey With the exception of when a company is just starting out and someone's product vision and ability to direct/execute it makes a big difference, I think mostly companies success in spite of, not because of executive leadership.

Most CEOs just need to lightly guide an already successful company with talented employees in place. Sadly so many want to leave their mark so to say and probably also feel a need to justify their exorbitant salaries.
