I really do not give one diaphanous ghost of a fuck that Biden pardoned his son.

America just showed that it will actively punish politicians sticking to the norms & upholding morality while rewarding the most outlandish corruption.

Trump’s going to pardon himself & the media will barely notice.

@Catvalente @glynmoody Well legally accepting a pardon is admittance to the crime itself.
@shanie @Catvalente @glynmoody in this single case. And Trump did not have anything to do with it other than pardoning a criminal.
@Catvalente I don't get the bleating about how 'this will tarnish Biden's legacy.' As if there is any longer such a thing in politics. What was George W. Bush's 'legacy?' Clinton's? Anyone other than professional political wonks remember? No. What the game is about now is winning the next election, staffing the high-level positions with friends and relatives, and undoing your predecessor's 'legacy' as fast as possible. Very sad but this is America now.
@Catvalente I am taking "one diaphanous ghost of a fuck" with me and giving it a loving home.
@Catvalente Nah, the media that want to stay on his good side (access, baby! Oh, and tax cuts for our owners, too) will actively fete him for it.

The difference:

Trump pretty much said and set the expectation he could and should pardon himself. So, won't be a surprise when he does.

Biden expressly said he won't pardon his son, and set the expectation doing so disrespects the judicial system. So, cries of hypocrisy when he does pardon.

@Catvalente
I'm more concerned about the millions of objectively innocent, disproportionately Black men wrongfully imprisoned and subjected to forced labor in this country
Biden's son is a distraction
@Catvalente 100% Biden would not have pardoned Hunter if Trump had not been elected. We elected an authoritarian; it makes sense to protect ourselves. Biden should seriously consider pardoning undocumented immigrants.
