went back through some #anime series i've watched before, just now

i'm still of the opinion that, for what #MadoMagi tried to do, the drama it entailed and the philosophical point it tried to make, #UtaKata did better before and #YuukiYuunaWaYuushaDeAru did better after

MadoMagi just isn't written as coherently as the others are and doesn't build up emotions and set up the story as effectively as the others, instead leaving the aftertaste of an intentionally broken tale

YuYuYu on the other hand is a particularly good contrast because it's far more effectively told and hits the emotions so much harder

looking at their relative popularities, i know this is an unpopular opinion, but i'm gonna stand by it. it is what it is, based on my experiences of their respective stories

@glennmagusharvey I do however, have no idea what happened in the sequels of YuYuYu. The plot just went pretty bonkers. The original was a nice complete story.

@anianimalsmoe
ah, maybe that's why the (Foo) Wa Yuusha De Aru franchise hasn't been as prominent

(i haven't watched sequels/spinoffs for either MadoMagi or YuYuYu)
