I am still seeing tons of articles in the mainstream media about how Democrats need to win back disaffected Trump voters. This is despite the data which clearly shows that Trump's vote did not increase significantly over 2020, but rather that Democratic voters voted in substantially smaller numbers.

I see no articles about how Democrats need to energize their base to vote, which is what the data indicates. The mainstream narrative is pure bullshit.

@dgoldsmith I think the Democrats have been floundering by failing to realize one simple fact: the electorate shifted in 2016 toward populism. There are two kinds of populism: the racist, xenophobic, hate-filled brand that the GOP embraced with Trump. The other is Woodie Guthrie fighting for labor/disenfranchised and against large corporate interests kind. By being scared of losing the big money donors, the Democrats have tried to walk a line that doesn't exist.

@Jeff_the_Geek @dgoldsmith

AND #Drumph received about 30% of eligible voters' votes. That's not a mandate, and it certainly isn't a justification for calls to "move the Democratic party to the center."

To Jeff's points, what if #Harris had invoked economic "justice" rather than economic "opportunity?"
