My Vision Pro investment continues to have ramifications throughout the year!

(If you’re curious, it’s the LG UltraGear, which is a 32” 4k 240Hz OLED that would be perfect for me. Maybe next year.)

Champaign problems, I know ✌️
@matt Wait, can't you use your Vision Pro as a 32-inch — or even 108-inch — display for your Mac????
@matt it's only Champagne problems if it comes from the Champagne region of France, otherwise it's just sparkling disappointment
@matt Bye bye Sony Inzone M9 next year ?
@tchaten yeah it’s days are numbered
@matt ah - is OLED what you are wanting most or a size increase?
@tchaten OLED is definitely the big thing. Finding a monitor that does OLED and high refresh and 4k is tough, but this seems to be the winner right now. Could take or leave the extra size tbh
@matt @tchaten Wouldn’t the PPI be low at this size?
@ravigupta @tchaten It’s less for sure, and I’d love more. I just love HDR, OLED, and high refresh more 😊
@matt USB-B 3.0 uplink and no USB-C? 2008 called and wants it’s cables back.
@luhrman Irrelevant to what I do with a monitor, I guess 🤷

@matt As a mac user, I am surprised you are not using a 5K monitor since the benefits of retina display thanks to higher PPI.

Curious on your thoughts on that one. I am looking for an 5K OLED but struggling

@mcn So for me, I use my Mac at a pixel-doubled 4k and it is technically “retina” at 21” away (apparently I sit about 24” away), so it looks fantastic to me. 5k would certainly be nicer, but I personally value other things I can’t get in a 5k display today. The big one is high and variable rate refresh, which I’m not aware existing in any 5k display in the consumer market.
