There was a fire in Sapporo yesterday and listening to the news it referred to people being transported for a 単価 Unit price or fee.

I may be misunderstanding this but I thought ambulances were free in #japan. I’ve come to understand that ambulances do charge about 7700¥ or about $50 if you go home on the same day. I’m wondering have I misunderstood what’s going on, or is it a way for the news to say that the victims were not badly hurt, and went home on the same day so were charged?
