Anyone in the #Electronics feed have Digikey/Mouser/LCSC part numbers for low-profile ("short") pin header & sockets? Basically like these Adafruit parts https://www.adafruit.com/product/3002 & https://www.adafruit.com/product/2940 but in quantity and of my own pin count (7 & 20 mostly)
The critical params: single row, 2.54 pitch, straight, thru-hole
- header: mating len: 4.5mm, contact len: 3.0mm
- socket: insulation len: 5.0mm, contact len: 3.0mm

Since Digikey/Mouser/LCSC came up empty for those parameters, I ended up just buying a few lots off Aliexpress. Not the most repeatable solution but will work for the rest of the year. The parts ordered: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803935997942.html

@todbot Samtec are my go-to for that sort of thing, particularly the configurability.

@huffeec and I went mildly insane getting our head around how configurable their standoff headers are when we were fine-tuning the version for @museuminabox

https://www.toby.co.uk/board-to-board-pcb-connectors/ is often a good starting point to get to roughly what you want. We ended up dealing direct with Samtec, who were happy to ship us 100 of the options we wanted (not sure if they even have an MOQ)

Like @amcewen, I start with #Samtec for something like that. They'll overnight a good number of free samples, and the parts are available on #Digikey. What about TSW and SSW?

@todbot Headers are so hard, with all their lengths, and then you have the pin width that can mean they end up being loose or never coming apart.
