@ivan hello! I don’t think we’ve ever met, but I was one of the ‘lucky’ folks who worked at Cyberia Kingston in ‘95 for a certain dude who I’m almost certain left a trail of debts in his wake…
@ade Hi Adrian, don't know who that was but those were crazy days!
@ivan Dude with a beard called Geoff. Very crazy days though! Not sure if I’d have had my career if it wasn’t for it, so the 3 months unpaid wages seem like a good investment in hindsight :)

Hey guys. I worked at Cyberia in Kingston in 1995 as well! Someone from Hacker News pointed me to this (very old) thread - just wanted to say hello!

In case you were interested in a bit of nostalgia, here's the thread on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42218130

It's about this article in Wired about Cyberia: https://www.vice.com/en/article/worlds-first-ever-cyber-cafe-cyberia-london/

@pgl @ivan I just got around to reading the HN thread - I can’t believe it mentions JavaNet! I went there with some friends in Dec ‘95 while travelling the US east coast. I vaguely remember I helped them out with some web stuff while I was there
