@TimMaddog I think the article mainly refers to the different politicians ' reactions / declarations . Btw, the results of polls often depend on who commissions them, and in which moment, in a way or another, Imho. I don't give them too much weight. I trust more what I see and hear when I get the chance. Said this, I am not in the position of affirming that what I see or hear represents the feeling of the majority of ppl in Taiwan, since I live abroad and I don't speak Mandarin.

But the Taipei Times deceptively headlines it as being about a "divided society" when even the polls they quote show that a majority favor "Taiwan" over "Chinese Taipei."

@TimMaddog You're probably right but, I am not a native English speaker but when they say divided I think they mean there are different opinions, as for “divisive ” they don't mean divided 50-50... at least for what I understand 🤔
