Darynchristo@atpfm question for atp and @caseyliss which synology model do you have for plex and do you use @lisamelton transcoding scripts for your content?
Casey Liss@Darynchristo I have a DS1621+ and yes, I often use @lisamelton's scripts to transcode whatever is ingested. Depending on how it arrives on my Synology I may or may not bother.
@caseyliss @lisamelton I have a follow-up question for you @caseyliss: Do you find that your Plex server is re-transcoding your movies that were transcoded with the scripts based off of factors such as bandwidth and device, or does it direct play the content? I ask as I’m looking into a synology nas that will be used for plex.
@Darynchristo it will transcode as it sees necessary but especially in the house it typically direct plays
