Welcome to #TransTuesday!

This week we’re talking about a change nearly every trans person hopes for but never knows if it’ll arrive… seeing our true selves in photos.

Here comes PHOTOS 2: THE SELFIE APOCALYPSE!

Last week we talked about how difficult not seeing ourselves in photos can be. Now you can follow along in real time as all that changed for me, and I had no idea what was happening.

Welcome to #TransTuesday! This week we’re talking about a change nearly every trans person hopes for but never knows if it’ll arrive… seeing ourselves in photos. Here comes PHOTOS 2: THE SELFIE APOCALYPSE! 😱 This is, like, a 300-level trans class, so be sure you’ve taken the prerequisite classes like GENDER DYSPHORIA. And another prerequisite,

Tilly's Trans Tuesdays - transgender education for everyone!
here’s a really important bit i don’t want you to miss

@tillybridges that was a really interesting article. I'm definitely seeing the "early transition photos that were euphoric are now dysphoric or at least cringe" thing going on.

I assume you're taking far more selfies than you post, have any you taken caused dysphoria and it's just that you've gotten at least one good one in each set? Or can you literally not take a dysphoric selfie? (Huge if true)

Also I love this. "Everything you want is on the other side of fear. Don’t let that stop you."

@Specialist_Being_677 no there aren’t any dysphoric selfies anymore! there are ones that are bad and ones i think don’t even really look much like me, but there’s no dysphoria in them. It’s pretty magical
@Specialist_Being_677 @tillybridges x2 for the old euphoric photos causing a bit of discomfort now. I look at photos from 6 months ago and think to myself “how did I feel happy looking like that?” I wonder what I’ll think of how I look now in 6 months’ time…
@portugeek @Specialist_Being_677 yeah that happens a lot early on, when the changes are happening, and it’s really wild
