Five Years On: A Covid Retrospective

As we approach the five year mark of the first known case of covid-19, as we contemplate a half decade of watching a novel virus rip through our communities, our countries, our world, I wanted to do a retrospective on the pandemic.

You are right, #NateBear nails it. He expresses exactly what many of us feel: anger about the lost lives and the mass destruction of health, sadness that the solidarity from the early phases was negated by the Public Health system,; concern about the enforced collective memory loss. Personally, I despair about the failure of the labour movement to defend our right to safety at worrk, letting the system treat every one of us as expendable.

We have work to do!
