I can't fucking copy, paste anything reliably in the many months since upgrading to #KDE Plasma 6... sigh. Never take basic features for granted I guess 😴

Even something I've used A LOT since fully migrating to
#Linux on #KDEPlasma, which is #KRunner has gotten terrible since the upgrade. More often than not, that thing simply does not launch until multiple tries - a couple of times it even hard crashed and needed to be killed and restarted using System Monitor.

Same issue with
#Spectacle, the screenshot utility on KDE.
@irfan how much RAM you have ?
@shrini 32gb
@irfan wow. That is huge for #KDE

wondering why the copy/paste are not working.

Try to report on their forums.
@irfan I would grab a liveCD of your favourite distro and check to see whether you have issues there as well. Because I've seen zero problems like the ones you're describing all these months.
@Kombatant haven't tried that but it's happening on all 3 computers of mine running Plasma 6 - it seems to be a known Wayland issue which has funny clipboard issues between different apps depending if they're running on Xwayland/Wayland/etc.

Issue not present when on X11, which is also what I was using (as per default) pre-Plasma 6.
@irfan I have two PCs running Manjaro Plasma and I haven't seen this. I think it's worth the shot to try with the LiveCD - try another distro just to be safe.
@irfan when you have this issue copy something in the xwayland app (you don’t need to paste it anywhere) and that will resolve the disconnect between Wayland and xwayland. Then you can use meta+v to switch back to the clipboard contents you were wanting to paste. This is a known bug.
