dragonfrog@AlisonW @pixelnull in small amounts the sugar slows the cure time, resulting in a stronger final product. At the level described here it significantly speeds up the cure time, so that it's likely starting to do a meaningful amount of curing while still being handled. All those bonds get broken as it's handled.
