Segregation Academies Across the South Are Getting Millions in Taxpayer Dollars

North Carolina offers an especially telling window into what is happening across this once legally segregated region where legislatures are now rapidly expanding and adopting controversial voucher-style programs.

ProPublica
@ProPublica Welcome to New America, same as Old America. 🤮
@ProPublica private schools, charter schools and home schooling are ways people are getting around Brown vs Board. Clearly self segregation financed by the public.

@ProPublica

«“We are ensuring that every child has the chance to thrive,” Republican Rep. Tricia Cotham argued. »

Oh, look, it's Tricia Cotham, the "pro-education" Dem who switched parties, giving Republicans in the NC legislature a veto-proof supermajority. How odd.

What's even odder is she just won re-election. Well... from the N&O:

«...under the new state House maps, she would be in District 105, which was drawn to give an edge to Republicans.»

Aha.

@ProPublica And then it begins...
These are the 'workings' of White Supremacy hate group tactics, better know as the White "Christian" Nationaists of the MAGA Regime.

NOTHING Christian about it,
except for the label.
Like their money laundering, it's only a front to fool others who do not know any better.
Which, according to our election, is a huge amount of uninformed people in America.
This is why the MAGAS love their semantics.
Like taking an old product & slapping on a new expiration date.

@ProPublica Next these so called White "Christian" Nationalists [White Supremacists] will be bringing back slavery.
They are already planning to bring back Hitler style concentration camps for their perceived enemies.
@ProPublica
This is what the Republican Party is all about.
