@rmondello Do you know where I look every time I need to check credit card information?

Passwords.

Then do you know where I look next?

Wallet.

Do you know where I always forget this information is located?

Safari.

Credit cards are not a passwords, but they are secrets. And they go in my physical wallet.

And this happens _every_ time. My brain can't associate web browsing with a credit card. I'm guessing I’m not alone.

@rmondello In re-reading this, I didn't mean to detract from the wonderful stuff you've already done. I’m sure that card secrets are subtly different from passwords (group sharing, off the top of my head).

Just some feedback about how you all could make things even better.

@chockenberry @rmondello I think they’re a bit limited by the name, maybe that was on purpose?

Something like Vault would allow for all sorts of stuff to be stored securely… credit card info, photos of ID/passport/SS card, copies of important documents, etc.

@chockenberry @rmondello just came across this Passwords companion app, Access: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/access-passwords-companion/id6469049274

Seems to store all of the items that Passwords doesn’t!

@chockenberry @rmondello this is one of a few things that make me put off migrating from 1Password to Passwords. I’m very used to looking up credit card info and other secrets in 1Password.

@chockenberry @rmondello I created a "Credit Cards" shortcut (iOS only) with this url…

prefs:root=SAFARI&path=AUTO_FILL/CreditCardList

…to make it easier to find. Not a solution to your problem, but it might help for now.

@chockenberry @rmondello Definitely not alone! I created this shortcut to take me to my credit card information no matter if I run it on my iPhone, iPad, or Mac. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/241ac48b9c8144ae9fe4031247f9a65d

@simonbs thank you for sharing this! I appreciate it.

@chockenberry Not alone.

I get the motivation behind delineating and siloing everything, but I’d **vastly** prefer Passwords.app to contain, really, whatever sensitive data I want it to.

1Password got this right.

@chockenberry @rmondello speaking of secrets, let me unshamefully plug an app that does store passwords *and* credit cards: https://secrets.app
Secrets | Password Manager for iOS and macOS

@chockenberry Definitely not alone. I want one place that stores and lets me manage all my secrets.
@chockenberry @rmondello +1 to this. Really wish these lived in the Passwords app. Most browsers store this info in “Passwords and Autofill” or something equivalent
@chockenberry yeah definitely not the correct place for it. But I do have it internalized it now
