I like โ€œcheat sheetsโ€ like this - it assists in unfriending assholes I thought I knew.

@BrianJopek

I like that. I like that a LOT.

@PeterLG @BrianJopek what about ineffable questions like:

"does my bum look big (in this)...?"

i'd unfollow just to avoid the consequences of any answer to that question!

@BrianJopek I like this. I had a set of such rules I used to post on social media that I developed back in the G+ days. I included antivaxxers, flat earthers, and a few others in that non-political column

@Jon_Kramer @BrianJopek Back in 2016, I had someone on my feed with lots of #MAGAIdiots friends, I'd start seeing their idiocy. All I had to do was post "What does Putin's Dick taste like?" to these people and their response would dictate if I blocked them.

Eventually, I gave up trying to weed them out, so I unfriended that one guy I've known for years who associates with them because he moved to their area. Oh well.

@mvilain @BrianJopek I think you made a wise choice. And an early one too. I couldn't believe how many people around me were still friends with trump supporters knowing about his past in 2016. It really opened my eyes about the type of person I was associating with.
@BrianJopek
Are gay people human beings?
No, we are God's
Should women be paid the same as men?
No, they should be paid more for putting up with men.
@BrianJopek @m Isn't it interesting to see the change in intelligence and language between the two sides? Almost as if the ones you should unfriend are the primitive brained ones.

@BrianJopek

might unfriend people over questioning light rail too

@BrianJopek I will absolutely unfriend people over Light Rail projects.
@BrianJopek
Handy. But, it sure seems silly when you actually spell it out. Like, if we had this sort of example on a sign on a stick in the grass outside polling locations, maybe it would have 'reminded' some people that needing 'reminding' of some of the things they would be voting for or against. I keep wondering... how did we get here? Some people that voted for the bad things are not really bad people who would disagree with this, they just had 1 issue on their mind when they selected their candidate, and forgot about all the other important things. Or, maybe, I'm wrong and they all suck. I dont know. Im trying really hard to not loose faith in humanity.
@BrianJopek both are political. Let's not lose track on that.
@chusgc @BrianJopek The left column are political topics related to governance in a democracy. The right hand column are stupid questions that have been blown into pseudo-political questions by bad actors who want to destabilize a democracy, and have nothing to do with governance.
@BrianJopek I wished the examples on the right weren't political issues. But the personal is political, and my continued existence is a political act, often enough one of defiance. I never found it particularly helpful to deny that aspect of reality.

@BrianJopek

Speaking of a-holes. Do you know Jeremy Sherman, founder of psychoproctology? He is extremely funny (as the title suggests) and good for the spirits.

Psychoproctology โ€“ Jeremy Sherman

@BrianJopek @riamaria Politics is personal and power. All of these are politics, only some of them are reasonable.

@BrianJopek

Can market forces help mitigate climate change?

Is climate change a hoax?

@pburkholder @BrianJopek Well, it must be a hoax! If climate change was real I would need to feel guilty about eating all that delicious beef and driving my wonderful SUV, so it has to be a hoax.
@BrianJopek all that shit is political. In fact, it's an extreme neoliberal political value to say the things that truly matter shouldn't be political.
@BrianJopek not all gay/lgbt+ are human
Some are otherkin/therian/nonhuman
