Wipr 2.0.2 is out with more fixes 🫡

@mipstian Everything works as expected. I might be preaching to the choir but Wipr 2 is the best, non-nonsense content blocker for Safari.

Just noticed on the Mac, cmd-w doesn't close the window. Is that the expected behaviour or a bug?

@vignub it’s on the todo list! It would be the same as hitting cmd+q tho, so not super useful
@mipstian Got it, thanks.
It's just me making a mountain out of a molehill.
Keep up the amazing work!
@mipstian Is it possible to get some kind of an iCloud Sync for Disabling content blockers across devices? Or am I aiming too high 😅 That was a real cool feature on @1blockerapp
@kToni73 not sure I know what you mean
@mipstian @kToni73 I believe they mean the ability in 1blocker to disable certain rules(or add custom rules) and those to sync across all the devices in the same iCloud account.
The way I do it is with Safari's built in method. Disabling content blocker on a website through the settings syncs across the ecosystem. Eg - a local newspaper which uses tinypass.com/piano to detect subscription.
@vignub @kToni73 yeah as far as I know disabling already syncs, like all website settings. Assuming the user hasn’t turned that off
@mipstian Working wonderfully on my iPhone and iPad. Blocks YT ads on these devices but still not on my Mac. No worries though, I have a workaround for Mac.
@gwcali @mipstian I haven't seen any YouTube ads on macOS 15.1. Do you think you might have some other extension which is meddling with the setup?
@vignub @gwcali Extra is probably not enabled. That’s half of my support responses right now: “please enable Wipr Extra” 🤷‍♀️
@mipstian @gwcali Perhaps, a small text on - how extra is optional but recommended to block ads on websites like YouTube - on the activate Wipr screen itself might help? Or will it make it look cluttered?
@vignub @gwcali I don’t wanna call out sites by name, especially ones I hate XD
@mipstian @vignub I do have Extra enabled. YT detects Wipr and I get the warning message. I did the log out, clear cache but the ad blocker detector comes back after 3-5 videos. It's weird that it's just my Mac and yet Wipr works perfectly on my iPhone and iPad 🤷🏻
@gwcali @vignub so the ads *are* blocked
@mipstian @vignub Huh? Anyway, I'm using a different blocker for Mac and sticking with Wipr2 on iPhone and iPad. Been using Wipr since 2018 and will keep using it.
@gwcali @vignub you’re getting detected, but you’re not seeing ads, correct? That’s a separate issue (also currently my top priority)
@mipstian With Wipr Extra disabled on YT, I see black playback for quite amount of time for what I assume is an ad playing.
