as I mentioned we attended a board meeting last night to explain what our CERT does & I am still having problems processing one of the questions we were asked. I think because it speaks to how out of touch some people are with how stuff works? I dunno...

This one older lady asked if fire agencies in the area posted updates about ongoing situations to facebook or next-door (because when she lived in SoCal like 20 years ago some agency did that)

I patiently explained PulsePoint & Watchduty but she still didn't get it.

Her: but why not on facebook or next-door?

Me: Pulsepoint and watchduty have real time vetted information. Watchduty will even show evacuation routes and shelters.

Her: but people would have to know where to find that

Us: 😱 😱 😱
We all wanted to yell: not everybody is on facebook or next-door & people would still have to know where to look!

Instead we just smiled at her and took the next question.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!
where is #infiniteScream when you need it?

/rant off

@MsMerope and then there are those of us who will not use FB or ND for any reason. 🤦🏻‍♀️
