all right #rstats if you need a statistician/data scientist/ML guy, today was my last day, so hit me up.
My research was in clustering and classification, and in graduate school I worked in the department's statistical consulting office so I have broad experience in traditional statistics as well. Lately I've been doing NLP in a network management/testing/troubleshooting context with some GenAI work.
I'm not particularly enthusiastic about gen AI but with the right use cases, or in something where I'm more concerned with measuring performance and optimizing than doing the plumbing, something where statistical/ML knowledge has a footing, I'm all in.
@gzt what are the parameters of your search? Geographical restrictions? Remote only? Would you work in biotech? Finance? Autonomous driving? Research or engineering or both?
@shabbychef Chicago or remote, prefer remote. Pretty open about options but I'm not terribly familiar with, say, genomic analysis or high performance computer vision which I assume autonomous driving involves. Finance okay but I'm probably more built for fraud detection, AML stuff than, say, stock trading. Probably either research or engineering but lean more eng just based on what people are researching these days.
