Astonished McGovern hadn't already been granted freedom of the city to be honest. Even if all he'd done was his Hillsborough drama that would have been enough for me. I don't think you can overstate how important that drama was in advancing the cause of justice or in alleviating the trauma and suffering of the families and survivors.
I think it might be possible for members of the public to nominate people. I'll keep you all informed.
