1/2: The revived #SOL20 is almost done. I've added a #ProcessorTechnology 32KRA DRAM memory card (one of the last, rarest, and best designed of their S-100 cards). Of the original 32x 4108 DRAM chips in it, only 3 were still working. But since every bank should have identical chips, I'll be replacing them all with 4116s (150ns). For now I could populate only one bank, but new chips are on the way. (Continued)
2/2: ...Beyond that, three logic chips were defective and needed replacing. I also changed all tantalum caps and all 4 regulators preemptively. Finally, I added heatsinks to the rare, hard-to-replace PROM chips (1x 74S287 and 4x 74S387), and finished off with a protective conformal layer underneath. The metal case was also unbent and resprayed. Almost done, after a couple of months working on this!
