The Onion buys Alex Jones' Infowars with help from Sandy Hook families

A federal bankruptcy judge in Texas has ordered a hearing into how the satirical news publication The Onion won the bidding for conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars, after Jones and his lawyers raised questions about how a bankruptcy auction was conducted. Lawyers for Jones and a company affiliated with Infowars that submitted a $3.5 million offer said Thursday that they expected a round of bidding to be held where prospective buyers could outbid each other. They alleged that the trustee overseeing the auction changed the process only days before and instead opened only sealed bids that were submitted. Judge Christopher Lopez ordered a hearing for next week.
