Mastodon is a bit different from the other offers, the biggest difference probably being the lack of an algorithm to help promote your posts, so likes don't really have any effect. Boosting and hashtags is where it's at.

I know Bluesky is getting all the love, but there's really no guarantee it won't end up just like Twitter, so personally I prefer it here.
