#Piracy friends, what's the best way to rip DVDs and BDs on Windows in 2024? I'm looking to store stuff uncompressed.

Is Handbrake still the go-to here? It's been a decade since I ripped anything but with a potential international move coming up I'd like to not have to move our physical collection again.

@julie These days I would use DVDFab to rip the original to MKV without changing compression and then FFMPEG to recompress video to H.265. I would keep audio in AC3 or recompress anything larger to AAC.

@dtabb73 @julie personally, I'd go with #AV1 simply becaude I hate proprietary formats...

The best option on #Windows is #AnyDVD-HD!
