#Nurses and #Midwives have a long history of organising and fighting for their own rights and those of the people we care for. Here's a story about one of our early advocates in #Victoria #Australia from #ANMFVic https://www.instagram.com/p/DCJKPLupiP9/?igsh=MW5sbTJrcml3eGhheQ==
ANMF (Vic Branch) on Instagram: "Margaret Anne ‘Gretta’ Lyons was an ardent feminist and change-maker whose passion for advancing the cause of women in general and nurses in particular played a significant part in laying the foundations for the ANMF 100 years ago. A career-long advocate for nurses’ industrial as well as professional advancement, Gretta was one of the first Victorian nurses to join the Australasian Trained Nurses Association (ATNA) – the country’s first professional association for nurses – and in 1901 she became a founding member of the Victorian Trained Nurses Association (VTNA), the forerunner of ANMF’s Victorian Branch. #FlashbackFriday"
